Cheat Engine – Plugin | Display Type Toolbar

A stylized promotional banner reads “CHEAT ENGINE PLUGIN” in large glowing blue and orange letters over a futuristic dark background of circuit lines, a gear icon, and blurred computer code and terminal windows, suggesting a high-tech, hacking-themed software add-on

Display Type Toolbar — Plugin for Cheat Engine

This is a lightweight plugin designed specifically for Cheat Engine, which integrates a compact display toolbar directly into the Memory Viewer interface. The toolbar is strategically positioned to remain unobtrusive while providing immediate access to critical display controls.

During memory analysis, users frequently need to switch between various data representation modes, including byteworddwordqwordfloatdouble, and text encoding formats. Without this plugin, altering the display mode necessitates navigating through cumbersome context menus, which significantly disrupts workflow efficiency. This is particularly problematic during intensive tasks such as debuggingmemory inspection, or reverse engineering, where speed and precision are paramount.

The plugin effectively resolves this inefficiency by introducing fast, one-click access to the most essential Memory Viewer display modes. It consolidates text encoding options and related view controls into a single, readily accessible toolbar. As a result, users can seamlessly toggle between data types without interrupting their analytical flow, thereby enhancing productivity and reducing cognitive load during complex memory analysis sessions.

⚡ What the Plugin Does ⚡

Memory Viewer Display Type Toolbar integrates directly into the Cheat Engine Memory Viewer and adds a responsive toolbar below the hexadecimal view area.

The toolbar allows you to quickly switch between different display formats without opening additional menus. For example, you can instantly change the view to 1-byte HEX, 4-byte DEC, Float, Double, ASCII, UTF-8, or UTF-16.

In addition, the plugin uses original Cheat Engine menu actions internally. This means the toolbar does not replace native functionality — it simply makes existing Memory Viewer options faster and easier to access.

The plugin also supports multiple Memory Viewer windows and automatically syncs button states with the currently selected Cheat Engine display mode.
